Derrickson's locked-room horror remains effective despite the lack of a follow-up. Taking place in 1978 Denver, a series of disappearances has made the children on edge. The Tammy Faye Biopic
In the battle between faith and wealth, the winner is obvious for greed in Showalter's wonderfully garish biopic about the fallen televangelist plus her lawbreaking partner. Garfield acts as the venal Jim, who states early on, “God does not want us to be poor,”. Both individuals begin monetising the American public's Christian beliefs. It's an extravaganza of poor styling, overdone appearance and bad faith, yet the lead actress succeeds to depict the character as a sympathetic figure.
