Vehicles in German Town Found Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Police reported they were notified by a man who discovered a car in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm police.

Vehicles, walls and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with swastikas, they announced in a release.

Police report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Police then located numerous other vandalized automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state early analysis show the liquid was probably human blood.

"There is still no indication as to its source; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in connection with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives announced they were trying "to unravel the case" and have asked to the community for tips.

An important political figure stated the vandalism left him speechless and required to be solved promptly.

"This incident hits the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a gunman focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
